The Fellowship Group from early 2009

The fellowship group was a place and opportunity to explore issues and questions related to practical Christian living. Topics that were discussed included : “God's Way to Make a Difference,” “A Pattern for Dynamic Prayer,” “Faithfulness,” “Relationships that Encourage,” “What God Thinks of My Ambitions,” and “How Not to Be Religious,” among others.

A fellowship group is different from a traditional Bible study. Each gathering will begin with an "ice breaker" question which helps us get to know each other better. For example a topic based on a chapter from "Sermon on the Mount" was discussed and ideas shared.

We closed with a time of shared prayer requests and corporate prayer. Perhaps the main difference between a fellowship group and Bible study is one of emphasis- whereas Bible studies often emphasize learning and sharing of Bible knowledge, a fellowship group's main emphasis is on sharing our lives and building a Christian community that demonstrates genuine caring and carrying of each other's burdens.
